“Loneliness Versus Being Alone…” The Quiet Is Where You Grow!

This is a standalone episode of the Lynda: Rooted&Real podcast.
Lynda highlights a profound truth in ‘Loneliness Versus Being Alone’: it’s possible to feel isolated even in a crowd. Understanding this distinction is crucial, as loneliness can be a heavy burden, while solitude can foster personal growth and self-discovery.
Embracing the concept of being alone allows for transformation and self-improvement, contrasting sharply with the destructive nature of loneliness. Recognising this difference is a vital step in your journey of becoming your best self.

[00:00:18.20]Hey, good people! This is Lynda again on Rooted&Real.
[00:00:24.78]Today we’re going to talk about ‘Loneliness Versus Being Alone’.
[00:00:29.56]We’ll separate those two things that keep confusing people,
[00:00:33.56]and they’re not the same thing. You can be in a room full of people and still feel lonely,
[00:00:41.40]and at the same time you can be by yourself and feel the most peace you’ve ever had.
[00:00:49.80]Now, loneliness is emptiness with people.
[00:00:55.12]Being alone is fullness without noise. One BREAKS you, the other BUILDS you.
[00:01:04.72]Learn the difference. The world will call you lonely for just choosing quiet,
[00:01:12.26]or for leaving the group chat, or for going home early.
[00:01:15.89]But sometimes you have to be alone to remember who you are.
[00:01:21.79]Alone is where God speaks clearest. Remember He said, be still and know that I am God.
[00:01:28.13]Alone is where you stop performing, yeah? And it’s where you realize you were never
[00:01:38.05]abandoned. We’re just being prepared. So don’t fear the quiet. The quiet is where your roots
[00:01:48.19]grow deep. If you’re lonely, or if you’re in that lonely season, hear me. You’re not invisible.
[00:02:01.10]You’re not unloved, and you’re not behind. You’re just in a cocoon season. And cocoons are quiet,
[00:02:10.55]but they’re not empty. So stop calling it lonely when it’s actually sacred.
[00:02:16.19]Being alone isn’t punishment. Sometimes it’s protection. Sit in it. Grow in it. Trust it.
[00:02:27.49]You’re not alone. You’re becoming… Thank you.
