If I Knew Then: Part 9…”

If I Knew Then: Part 9

This is the ninth episode of the miniseries, “If I Knew Then: Journeying Through Choices and Discovering Your Path” in the Lynda: Rooted&Real podcast.

Lynda contemplates the profound impact of words in ‘If I Knew Then’ Part 9, recognizing their ability to either wound or mend. She emphasises the importance of taking time to heal in silence, while also urging us to express kindness freely to those we cherish.

In moments of struggle, it’s vital to prioritise our well-being and allow ourselves the space to recover. At the same time, we should never hesitate to share compassion and love with others, as these gestures can be incredibly healing for both the giver and the receiver.

[00:00:13.88]Welcome back to Rooted&Real. Remember, you can find all the episodes on the

[00:00:28.18]But, meanwhile, I will appreciate your comment. Please remember to follow and
[00:00:34.73]subscribe to the Rooted&Real channels for Lynda (Rooted&Real). Okay, so today we’ve been
[00:00:42.77]talking about if I knew then what I know now, would it have made things
[00:00:47.53]different? Would it have made things better? Today, we’ll talk about the tongue.
[00:00:53.03]Hmm! Oh, THE TONGUE! Oh dear. Honestly, if you knew then what you know now, what would you
[00:01:05.44]have said more? Or said less? Or just not said at all? The tongue is a powerful
[00:01:18.16]tool. It has no bones, eh? But it is strong enough to break hearts. Never, ever, trust
[00:01:29.03]your tongue, especially when you’re bitter or angry. Hush! Hush until you heal. The
[00:01:43.45]words spoken, those words once spoken, they don’t come back. You may have cursed
[00:01:51.84]your spouse, your rebellious child, your friend, your sibling. Words like, “You will
[00:02:01.19]never amount to anything!” – “You will suffer!” – “I hate you!” Honestly, if they’re still on
[00:02:08.59]this earth, go apologize. You don’t know what that did to their self-esteem, to
[00:02:17.60]their hearts. But there’s another side to it: “You are worthy…” – “You are loved…” – “This
[00:02:27.93]too shall pass…” – “I’m praying for you…” – “I’m here if you need me…” These are the words
[00:02:37.36]that can build up someone and create bonds that last. I have wronged a lot of
[00:02:46.24]people with my tongue. And I’m doing damage control with those who are still
[00:02:51.32]around. For those who’ve passed, all I can do is ask God to forgive me. So if I
[00:03:01.84]knew then what I know now, I would be more sensitive with what I say. And I
[00:03:10.13]would never hold back kind words, especially to the people who matter most
[00:03:17.73]to me. Thank you! Thank you so much for listening…
